Family
We affirm that the law of the Creator defines marriage as the union between a man and a woman, and the family. We further affirm that NO state including NC may authorize marriage and family relations contrary to that law. Therefore, NC is NOT obliged by the full faith and credit clause of the United States Constitution to enforce any other state’s law governing marriage and the family which conflicts with the law of the Creator.
Our national and NC renewal starts with the family. It is where each new generation gains its moral anchor. It is the school of citizenship, the engine of economic progress, a permanent haven when everything is changing.
The SPNC recognize the importance of having a father and mother in the home. The two-parent family provides the best environment of stability, discipline, responsibility and charity. We support the courageous efforts of single parent families to have a stable home.
The SPNC oppose and resist all efforts to redefine the traditional American family. We offer our Party as an alternative to persons who are concerned about the breakdown of the American family.
The Party believes that homosexuality should not be presented as an acceptable "alternative" lifestyle in our public education and policy. We are opposed to any granting of special recognition, or privileges including, but not limited to, marriage between persons of the same sex, and custody or adoption of children."
Every child deserves a family in a home filled with love and free from abuse. Today many children do not enjoy that right. We are determined to change that. While government cannot legislate love and compassion, we can provide the leadership to encourage the development of healthy, nurturing families.
We are a part of the majority of Americans who are repulsed by pornography, whether it be through literature, music, or the electronic media. We also oppose any use of tax dollars to support it. We vigorously endorse constitutional laws to control obscene materials which degrade everyone-- particularly women-- and depict the exploitation of children.
We endorse new laws which require stiffer penalties for those who abduct, exploit and abuse children. We oppose domestic violence and spousal abuse and call for laws to place stiff penalties for doing such..
As more individuals have abandoned responsibility for their children, the cost of Temporary Assistance for needy Families (TANF) to responsible citizens has increased. We support efforts to force "dead-beat" parents to meet their financial obligations but oppose the use of any type of general national ID card to do this..
